Royal Wedding Fever
Hey all. After a) getting a new job, b) moving to London, c) starting afresh in the London office, and d) fixing my blog template, Pinup is back! Woo-hoo!
Let's kick off (resume?) with a bang, shall we? Royal wedding fever has been in full effect as of late, and, while I'm not what one would call a royalist, I do love me some schmancy hats, froofy dresses, and tiaras—especially tiaras. (I personally switched between four different tiaras today.) Needless to say, I was eagerly awaiting the spectacle of the wedding. While I found some guests' apparel either disappointingly blah or utterly cracked-out, I did enjoy the cavalcade of hats. Perhaps unsurprisingly, good ol' Posh won the coveted title of Best Hat in Attendance (in my mind, at least, and that's what counts). Dress was a bit dull, but she's pregnant, so I'll cut her some slack. The shoes just looked perilous. Beckham looked dreamy, but that's what he does.
As for the dress (or, rather, The Dress), it was lovely. The first thought that popped into my head was that it looked like a more modern version of Grace Kelly's wedding gown—never a bad source of inspiration.
One notable lowlight: the Exorcist flower girl. Poor kid. Hope she grows out of it. Here's a cartwheeling verger to cleanse your eyeballs and lift your spirits.
