Disney + Dalí = Destino

I only recently discovered this gem of a cartoon, Destino, a joint effort between Disney and Salvador Dalí. The backstory is so interesting—the collaboration began in 1945-46 and was shelved when Disney ran into financial difficulties. Nearly 60 years later, the project was resumed, completed, and released in 2003. I can't believe I hadn't heard of it until a few weeks ago—it's just lovely. Surreal, of course (it is Dalí, after all). It was apparently included in the 2010 Blu-ray release of Fantasia and Fantasia 2000, which adds yet another reason (beyond one of my favorite segments ever, the flamingo with the yo-yo sequence) you should pick up a copy.
